I’m grateful to a number of podcasts for hosting me recently. Each interviewer was very thoughtful and asked great questions. Please take some time to listen to a few of these while you’re getting ready for the day or on a commute!

1.      “Ryan M. Armstrong: The Book of Job in Wonderland, Part I,” and Part II. Interviewed by Fred Stella on Common Threads, co-produced by WGVU Radio (NPR affiliate) and The Interfaith Dialogue Association. Aired on Feb. 2 and 9, 2025.

Fred Stella invited me onto Common Threads on WGVU Radio, which is an NPR affiliate. He runs a great show that highlights interfaith dialogue and common religious issues. He’s the first interviewer to ask me about my use of Abbott and Costello in my recent book! He also drew out some of the interpretive differences between Jewish and Christian approaches to the book of Job.

2.      “The Book of Job in Wonderland: Making (Non)Sense of Job's Mediators! | Dr. Ryan Armstrong” Interviewed by Jacob Berman on History Valley, April 20, 2025.

I’ve watched Jacob Berman’s YouTube channel explode since the first time he invited me on. He now boasts one of the largest and most important channels to focus on biblical scholarship. He is one of the few interviewers to ask me about the Dead Sea Scrolls. I had just given a presentation on the Dead Sea Scrolls a few hours before this interview, so I was very excited to talk about ancient scribal practice.

3.      “Job Makes ZERO Sense…Until You Read It Like THIS” Interviewed by Cassian Bellino on Biblically Speaking Podcast (May 20, 2025).

Cassian created a podcast for the average Christian who has biblical and theological questions, but will never have the opportunity to sit down with a scholar. She blew up on Spotify, and she’s begun making her podcast available on YouTube, as well. She asks a lot of important hermeneutical questions and got me talking about practical implications of my interpretations of the book of Job. We talk about how one should approach the Bible and even God’s own self, when characters like Job are blessed while making irreverent jokes at God’s expense. Where do we find the balance between respect and authenticity?
